Updates on summer camp, golf fundraiser, and more!

Register Now for the Foundation Golf Tournament!

Registration is open now for the Skye Farm Foundation’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 7th! Join us for 9 holes of golf at the Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, NY, and/or support the event with your business and sponsor a tee, a contest, or more. We'll be doing a shotgun start, scramble format, with "closest to the pin" and "longest drive" contests and a variety of prizes. Registration starts at 1pm, followed by 2pm tee time, and a 5pm casual dinner reception.

Your support of this event will help Skye Farm continue to fill kids’ summers with smiles, friendship, adventure and loving Christian community. We sold out this event last year, so be sure to register soon!

Counselor Positions Still Available

We’re in the final stretch of our summer staff hiring season, and we have a couple more positions available for counselors!

  • male counselor (1 18+ position remaining, starting at $350/week)

  • female counselor (2 17+ positions remaining, starting at $350/week)

Counseling staff get to experience the joy of camp alongside their campers, supervising, facilitating, and participating in camp activities with their small group of campers. Counselors receive extensive training to work hands-on with kids, sleeping in cabins with no more than 6-8 campers and working together with a co-counselor and other program staff throughout the week. It's an incredibly rewarding job, and helps staff grow valuable skills in leadership, problem solving, and more.

If you have someone in your life who you think would be a great camp counselor, send them our way! And if they would like to ask some questions or learn more about Skye Farm before applying, we are always happy to chat over the phone or via email.

Additional Summer Staff 2026 logistics to know:

  • Staff training starts Wednesday, June 17th for counseling and leadership staff and Sunday, June 21st for all other staff. Flexibility for students with regents exams or graduations is absolutely available.

  • Room & board is included for all summer staff positions! Laundry facilities are available at camp for staff for free.

  • The last day of work for most summer staff is Saturday, August 8th, with some positions continuing to support retreats later in August.

  • Each week, staff have time off from Friday evening to Sunday morning at 10am, in addition to breaks during the day throughout the week.

FreeWill Deadline Coming Soon!

Steve Butler, on behalf of the Skye Farm Foundation, has an important update for us about FreeWill:

April has gone, May is here, and we’re finally getting around to the projects we’ve been putting off til Spring, right? Is it the garage, the basement, the attic, or the garden that’s been waiting for your attention? And how about those New Year’s resolutions we thought about for a while?

As we’re taking care of unfinished business, this is an excellent time to start writing or revising our wills because a very important deadline is coming soon. Skye Farm’s free opportunity to begin your will on FreeWill.com will come to a close on May 26th.

But the good news is: everyone who has registered an online account on FreeWill.com by that date can continue to use their service indefinitely. So, if you have not yet signed onto their website, please do so right away. Then you can plan, write, or revise your free, legal will at any time in the future. Click here to create an account.

The Skye Farm Foundation has benefited greatly from our association with FreeWill and will reap the benefits of our donors’ generosity for many years. Thank you to everyone who has participated in this program. The Planned Giving Team will soon be announcing new plans to assist our friends in will-making and planned giving to help ensure that Skye Farm can continue its ministries through the present and into the future.

Thursday Crew News

For many on the Thursday Crew, April was full of days with the chainsaws and wood splitter. The crew worked hard to safely drop numerous dead trees from around the main parking lot, Bass Lodge, and around the Hagy and Loon cabins. These trees are now no longer threats to the buildings and vehicles around them and, as a bonus, they’re helping us replenish our firewood supplies in various woodsheds around camp!

Teamwork makes the dream work!

Even an April snow squall didn’t stop the crew!

Other ongoing Thursday Crew projects include turning on the water to our seasonal buildings (and the various spring plumbing repairs and updates that come with it), continued work on the floors of several cabins, new screen doors for the Mohawk cabins, continued work on completing the renovations to Central Washhouse, the assembling of our secret carpentry project (to be revealed soon!) and more.

Upcoming Events & Dates to Know

Stay tuned for more information about these events coming soon!

Thank you for supporting Skye Farm, whether that means trusting us with your family, volunteering your time, spreading the word about what we do, helping get kids to camp, or making financial gifts. If you’d like to make a donation to the Skye Farm Foundation, click the link below.
