Early Bird Beanies, Camping Sundays, & more!

It’s Camping Sunday Season!

Assistant Director Hannah leading a camp song at Cobleskill UMC’s Camping & Scouting Sunday
‘Tis the season for camping to come to a church near you! Robyn and Hannah are visiting churches to share a special children’s message and talk to families and congregation members of all ages about Skye Farm. So far this year they’ve visited Calvary UMC in Latham, Cobleskill UMC, and 1st UMC of Delmar. Future church visits include Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid on March 16th, 1st UMC of Voorheesville on March 23rd, and Burnt Hills UMC on April 6th.
If you’d like a visit from Skye Farm at your church, talk to your pastor about coordinating with us! We have some availability at the end of April and in early May. If a visit from camp staff doesn’t work, we can also provide churches with a video children’s message, a 90 second video with campers talking about Skye Farm, and additional brochures and other materials to use as you wish!
One Month Left for Early Bird Beanies!
This year, campers who register for summer programs before April 1st get a free Skye Farm beanie in the mail. That means there’s less than one month left to register and get a beanie! Registering early for summer camp helps us plan for staffing needs, open additional spaces in popular programs as needed, and prepare for an amazing summer! | ![]() Preparing beanies to be mailed |
For those looking to get a beanie who can’t register early (or for parents & alumni,) never fear! Our remaining stock of beanies after April 1st will be available for purchase in the camp store, both in-person this summer and in a special online camp store for a limited time this spring. Stay tuned!
Program Spotlight: Classic Camp Programs
Each month in the lead-up to summer, we’ll be spotlighting some of this year’s summer camp programs. This month, we want to highlight our “classic camp” programs! While some of our weeks of camp are more specialized around particular interests or adventure trips, classic programs offer wide-ranging activities for campers who want to try it all.

Skye Faves is a true classic camp program, offering a wide range of camper-favorite activities. Skye Faves is for ages 8 - 12, with 7 year-olds able to attend with camp approval. Skye Faves has two sessions this year, July 6 - 11 and July 20 - 25.
Games, Games, Games offers classic camp activities like Skye Faves, but with an extra focus on games! This week is packed with creative outdoor games at the ballfield, fun board and card games, and lots of camp favorites like gaga ball and 9 square, of course! Games, Games, Games has a session for ages 8-11 and one for ages 12-15, June 29 - July 4.
Skye Farm Stadium is similar to Games, Games, Games, as a classic camp with extra focus on sports and camp games. Campers have fun creating team names and flags and competing in a wide variety of sports and games throughout the week, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, 9 square, canoeing, and much more. Skye Farm Stadium has a session for ages 8-11 and one for ages 12-15, July 27- August 1.
Night Owls is a modern classic, one of our most popular programs for teenagers of the past decade. The Night Owls experience is complete with late nights filled with stargazing, glow in the dark activities, late night snacks, and more. This camp is perfect for a laid-back teenager who is looking to have fun week at camp! Ages 13 - 16, July 20 - 25.
Summer camp registrations are rolling in! Remember to check out all of this year’s programs (click here to view on our website) and share with the people in your life who could benefit from time at camp! Word of mouth from trusted friends, family, and congregation members is one of the best ways to get kids to try out camp for the first time. Need camp brochures? Thursday Crew News
This month, we have some progress to share on the updates being made to the Loon & Schroon staff cabins!
Loon has new, brighter lighting and a fan for when it’s eventually hot out again. The ceiling has been completely re-done, paneled with Skye Farm lumber, and the walls dividing the bedrooms now go completely up to the ceiling for increased privacy. More work on the walls and floors to come.
Work in Schroon is following in the footsteps of that done in Loon, with new windows and a door kicking things off!
As a reminder, the updates being made to these cabins (formerly known as the Jr. Director and Jr. High Director cabins) are part of our ongoing effort to provide updated lodging for staff, with more privacy, fewer pests, and easier spaces to keep clean. This volunteer-run project is made possible by a generous grant from the Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church GROWTH Fund.

Retreat Highlights: Young Adult Winter Retreat
Skye Farm had the pleasure of hosting the Upper NY Young Adult Council’s winter retreat in February! A small group of young adult clergy and laity from all over Upper NY gathered for a cozy weekend, complete with snowshoeing, sledding, skiing, and lots of fun and fellowship around the Ogden fireplace.
