Open House June 22
![]() | This year’s Open House is on Sunday, June 22 between 1-4pm! Camper families and friends of Skye Farm of all kinds are invited to join us for site tours, s’more’s, and games with the summer staff! Open House is a great opportunity to introduce kids and families to our staff and to everything Skye Farm has to offer. Check in at Kessler Hall. |
Last Chance for Summer Camp Registrations!
Some of our programs are full, but there are still spots left in each week of this summer! Check our website for updates on full programs, and encourage campers in your life to register now to get their preferred program. Our Refer-A-Friend discount gives $25 off the cost of registration for both the family making the referral and the friend’s family they get to sign up for camp. Remember, word of mouth from trusted friends, family, and congregation members is one of the best ways to get kids to try out camp for the first time. Need camp brochures? Got questions about summer camp? Email us at [email protected].
This Summer’s Curriculum: Go!
![]() | Each summer, Skye Farm campers explore the Bible with the help of a curriculum developed by a team of camp & retreat staff and clergy from Upper NY. This year, our curriculum is called “Go!” and focuses on what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century. Different Bible stories and themes for each day will help campers learn both about the early church as well as ways Christians today are called to GO and proclaim, share, and be God’s love in the world. |
Each week this summer we’ll have a chaplain, a clergyperson from a church connected with Skye Farm who will guide campers through small group Bible study time with the help of summer staff. Chaplains this summer include:
Rev. Derek Hansen; Adirondack Community UMC and Saranac Lake: First UMC
Pastor Ian Urriola; Burnt Hills UMC
Pastor Kristi Van Patten; Alplaus, Averill Park: Church of the Covenant, and West Sand Lake UMCs
Rev. Steve Butler; retired
Pastor Nina Dickinson; Reber, Clintonville, Indian Lake, Long Lake: Calvary, Blue Mountain Lake, Keeseville, Willsboro, and Harkness UMCs
Rev. Lynnette Colden; Schroon Lake Community Church
If you or a clergyperson you know may be interested in spending a day, several days, or a full week at Skye Farm this summer, please call or email our office for more information! We’re looking for some more chaplain coverage for the weeks of July 13-18 and July 20-25.

Thursday Crew & Volunteer News
Preparations for summer camp and all sorts of spring projects have been keeping the Thursday Crew volunteers quite busy! Updates in the Loon & Schroon staff cabins are nearing completion, and we’re excited to welcome staff into these fresh spaces in a few weeks. Porches at Kessler and Bass are getting fresh stain, work on the Central Washhouse updates continues, and the happy drone of power washers, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers mean summer is on its way.
Last weekend, 12 volunteers (including some familiar Thursday Crew faces) braved the cold & rain for our annual dining hall kitchen opening day. Since our dining hall is closed down during the colder months, this cleaning day includes sanitizing all of our dishes/utensils/pots & pans, power-washing trash cans, storage racks, & more, taking inventory of canned and dry food goods, and generally emptying all of our counters, cabinets, & drawers for a hearty spring cleaning. We are very grateful for all of the help — many hands make camp work!
