THIS SATURDAY, February 8th, the Skye Farm Foundation is throwing their annual fundraising dinner, An Evening at Camp, at Shenendehowa United Methodist Church. We'll be bringing summer camp to you with dinner prepared by some familiar faces from the Skye Farm kitchen, live music, awards, a camp store booth, and a silent auction! All money raised will support the long-term future of Skye Farm. Doors open at 5pm, with dinner at 5:30pm. Tickets are $25.

2nd Winter Family Fun Day

We had an absolute blast at our Winter Family Fun Day in January, and we’re doing it again on Sunday, February 16th! Last time we didn’t have quite enough snow for snowshoeing, although we enjoyed plenty of sledding, goodies, and walks to see the frozen lake. The snow’s been building up, however, and with a couple more storms in the forecast over the next week or so we anticipate some excellent snowshoeing conditions for the 16th! ❄

This is a free, open-house-style event from 1-4pm; donations are welcome. RSVP to let us know you're coming!

Program Spotlight: Beginner Programs

Each month in the lead-up to summer, we’ll be spotlighting some of this year’s summer camp programs. This month, we want to highlight the programs we offer for our youngest campers! Skye Farm offers a few different options for younger campers who are ready to get their first taste of summer camp, but aren’t ready for a full week away from home.

Mini Campers in 2024

Some are designed as condensed versions of our typical summer camp programs, with a smaller staff to camper ratio and activities optimized for younger campers, while our Little Ones program is designed for young campers to experience camp alongside an adult from their family. These programs can be a great first step for kids who are learning to be more independent, to make friends in new settings, and to encounter God in new ways.

Mini Camp has been a first introduction to Skye Farm for generations of campers! Campers ages 6-9 get their first taste of classic camp with swimming, games, singing, hiking, and creating, while only spending 2 nights away from home. This year, we have two sessions of Mini Camp, July 6-8 and July 9-11.

Fun Size Camp is a new program for 2025, offering a Mini-Camp-Style experience with an introduction to all the fun of classic camp with one additional night away from home (total of 3) for campers ages 7-11. Fun Size Camp is running June 29 - July 2.

Little Ones is a “guardian camp” that kids ages 3-7 can attend with an adult guardian! Children and their adults get to experience the fun of camp for 2 nights away from home, exploring a new environment together before taking the bigger step of going to camp alone. Little Ones is running August 10-12, after our final week of summer camp programming, so families get a quieter camp experience more focused on younger campers.

Summer camp registrations are rolling in! Remember to check out all of this year’s programs (click here to view on our website) and share with the people in your life who could benefit from time at camp! Word of mouth from trusted friends, family, and congregation members is one of the best ways to get kids to try out camp for the first time. Need camp brochures? Thursday Crew News

This month, we want to highlight a special project of the Thursday Crew’s: the building of custom Adirondack chairs out of lumber milled from Skye Farm trees! The crew started building a first batch of these chairs last year, making a set to be used on the large porch of Conklin Lodge. The latest pair, built this winter, will be available as part of the silent auction at the Skye Farm Foundation Annual Fundraising Dinner this Saturday, February 8th.

Many hands play a role in the construction of these chairs, from the planing of the rough cut lumber, to the careful measuring and cutting of each unique piece, to the meticulous sanding and finishing, to the final assembly.
