Summer camp brochure, Giving Tuesday, a look back at 2025, & more!
Support Skye Farm on Giving Tuesday
Today, December 2nd, is Giving Tuesday, a global celebration of radical generosity and a day to consider how your gifts can do good in the world. As we celebrate Giving Tuesday, we want to look back at some of the good that has been done at Skye Farm this year, with gratitude for the gifts that made it possible and excitement for the work we’ll be able to do in the year to come!

By the numbers, 2025 was a year of continued blessings and growth for Skye Farm.
256 campers over 6 weeks of summer camp 20 years of partnership with Warren County Cornell Cooperative Extension, which has sent thousands of local kids to camp on full scholarships over the years | 42 United Methodist churches helping get kids, staff, volunteers, and retreats to camp over 35 guest groups, including 120 Skidmore College Outdoor Orientation Program participants and 75 Guilderland Cross Country runners 10 clergy people volunteered their time as chaplains and program deans | at least 300 camp tee shirts tie-dyed over 90 volunteers helped nurse, cook, repair, build, clean, lead, & serve our community throughout the year 30 Little Ones campers joined us for family fun at camp, our biggest year ever |
The work of Skye Farm is made possible by the many donations of all sizes that are made on days like Giving Tuesday. This year, we have a generous donor offering a matching donation of $10,000, so any gift you make will go twice as far! If Skye Farm has made a positive impact on your life and a financial gift is something you can manage this year, we invite you to give to support the good work we have ahead of us in 2026. This year, GiveButter, the donation platform we use, is waiving all fees on Giving Tuesday, so 100% of your donation will go right to the Skye Farm Foundation.

Skye Farm Community Cookbook
The Skye Farm Community Cookbook is available! With over 50 recipes from camp alumni, this collection has classics from the Skye Farm kitchen as well as personal favorites from multiple generations' worth of staff and volunteers.
 | Cookbooks are $20, with all proceeds going to the Skye Farm Foundation, our independent nonprofit that fundraises to support Skye Farm. Cookbooks can be ordered online and shipped directly to you, and ordering two gives you free shipping! We'll also have a limited quantity available for sale at Skye Farm Foundation events and in the camp store next summer. |
The cookbook contains camp-favorite recipes like cranberry crud, chocolate peanut butter no-bakes, camp rice, the homemade honey mustard featured on campers' favorite pretzel melt sandwiches, and more. It'll make a great Christmas gift! Thank you to all the alumni who contributed recipes and extra thanks to Jackie Boyea for helping to coordinate and type up recipes! |  |
Winter Family Fun Day
The snow today has us excited for winter adventures at camp! We hope you’ll join us for our Winter Family Fun Day on Sunday, February 15th. From 1 - 4pm, you can enjoy guided snowshoe hikes to the Castle and beyond, sledding and fun in the snow, and space inside to warm up by the fire with hot chocolate, cookies, and board games! This is a free, open-house-style event; donations are welcome. |  |
Another Year with the Thursday Crew
Our dedicated weekly volunteer group, the “Thursday Crew,” has grown larger and more productive than ever in 2025! Now with up to 25 volunteers a week, the crew is a lively blend of Skye Farm old-timers and newer friends of Skye Farm who have become connected with and invested in the life of our site more recently. We’re so grateful for each and every one of them and the care, skill, and time they share with our ministry!
Over the course of 2025 the crew have improved camp with numerous projects:
Ongoing work on major updates to Central Wash House (more about this project will be shared upon its completion in Spring 2026!)
Renovations of the Loon & Schroon staff cabins (made possible by a generous grant from the Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church GROWTH Fund)
Updates to the walls & ceilings in the Glens Falls cabin group
Much-needed re-staining of Bass Lodge and Shippey Lodge porches and ramps
Repairs to our marina dock and canoe storage racks
Major clean-out of the barn
Completion of a multi-year restoration of the Kessler porch
The building of multiple Adirondack chairs made from lumber from Skye Farm trees
Installation of a new dishwasher in Ogden Lodge
In addition to these specific projects, the crew has continued their ongoing work on trails, gardens & planters, seasonal camp start-up and shut-down work, work throughout the year in the kitchen & dining hall, vehicle and equipment repairs & maintenance, electrical work in cabins, and countless other tasks we’re surely forgetting here. Here’s to more amazing projects and joy-filled Thursdays in 2026!
