Summer camp brochure, Giving Tuesday, a look back at 2024, & more!
Support Skye Farm on Giving Tuesday
December 3rd is Giving Tuesday, a global celebration of radical generosity and a day to consider how your gifts can do good in the world. As we celebrate Giving Tuesday, we want to take a look at the good that has been done at Skye Farm this year, with gratitude for the gifts that have made it possible and excitement for the work we’ll be able to do in the year to come.

By the numbers, 2024 was a year of continued blessings and growth for Skye Farm.
250 campers over 6 weeks, a 25% increase from 2023 1 Assistant Director position made possible by the support of generous local churches, increasing our year-round capacity to grow guest groups, connect with more local churches, and increase camper registration numbers | 29 United Methodist churches sent campers over 30 guest groups, including 160 Skidmore College Outdoor Orientation Program participants and 80 Guilderland Cross Country runners 36 peace canoe voyages with campers, staff, and retreat guests | at least 400 homemade muffins prepared & eaten over 90 volunteers helped nurse, cook, repair, build, clean, lead, & serve our community throughout the year 300 campers |
Skye Farm’s ministry is made possible by the generosity of our community. On past Giving Tuesdays, gifts have totaled over $11,600 in 2023 and over $12,200 in 2022. This year, we once again have a donor offering a matching donation of $5,000.
As we look ahead to 2025, we ask that you’ll consider making a donation to support the good work we have ahead of us. 🧡

Winter Family Fun Day
Last week’s Thanksgiving snowstorm has us excited for winter adventures at camp!
We hope you’ll join us for our Winter Family Fun Day on Sunday, January 19th. From 1 - 4pm, you can enjoy guided snowshoe hikes to the Castle and beyond, sledding and fun in the snow, and space inside to warm up by the fire with hot chocolate, cookies, and board games! This is a free, open-house-style event; donations are welcome.
Thursday Crew Snapshots
Our dedicated weekly volunteer group, the “Thursday Crew,” have improved camp with numerous projects in 2024, including ongoing work on the Kessler porch, a full renovation of the staff cabin “Spilman Manor,” (formerly known as Ms./Mx. Manor,) repairs to the steps and walls of the Damascus and Borden cabins, repairs to Eagle and Lookout lean-tos, trail work, vehicle and equipment repairs & maintenance, gardening at the Ogden flowerbeds and planters scattered around main camp, seasonal camp start-up and shut-down work, work throughout the year in the kitchen & dining hall, improvements to the Loon & Schroon cabins (formerly Jr. and Jr. High Director,) and countless more we’re surely forgetting here! Here are some snapshots of just some of this year’s projects and volunteers.

We are extremely grateful for the time, skills, and camaraderie the Thursday Crew volunteers so generously give to Skye Farm. Here’s to more amazing projects and joy-filled Thursdays in 2025!
